Knives

There are dozens of types of knives, of all shapes and sizes, and they are not only used in kitchens. Some are for electrical appliances, others are tools for woodworking. We can even design and craft custom-made knives according to your criteria. We also believe in recycling and reusing materials which might still be very good for such purposes. We also offer other services at our workshop such as repairing, restoring, and crafting new knife handles.

A list of knives we sharpen:

  • Serrated knives (including electric ones)
  • Two-handed knives (mezzaluna)
  • Kitchen knives
  • Granulator knives (shredder)
  • Blender knives
  • Diving knives

  • Peelers
  • Kitchen Knives

There are several models of kitchen knives with different uses. You probably have various types at home, from small peeling knives to larger chef’s knives or meat cleavers. All these knives can be easily sharpened by a specialist, even serrated knives like bread or steak knives, and even electric knife blades.

This category includes the following types of knives:

    • Cleavers
    • Butcher knives
    • Chef’s knives
    • Carving knives
    • Boning knives
    • Paring knives
    • Fillet and fish knives
    • Flank knives
    • Slicing knives
    • Poultry knives
    • Paring knives

We also offer related services, such as repairing and reconstructing broken knife handles, and it is also possible to create new ones.

  • Mezzaluna Chopper or Two Handed Knife

Less known but still widespread, these knives require entirely hand sharpening. Equipped with a half-moon blade, they are preferred by some people for chopping food. Due to their unconventional shape, they must be sharpened entirely by hand using different grades of sharpening stones.

This work requires precision and patience as it involves respecting a certain cutting angle that cannot be achieved with a grinder (even with a water grinder) without risking damaging the knife’s arc.

  • Penknives, pocket or folding knife

These knives come in various types, including pocket knives, folding knives, and some Swiss Army knives, equipped with one or multiple blades.

Like other knife blades, we can sharpen them and even disassemble them to remove rust from the parts and restore their original luster. It is also possible to repair, restore, or create new handles for these knives.

  • Scuba Diving Knife

Diving knives are mostly made of stainless steel, but some are made with other metals such as titanium. It is important to keep them sharp as they are designed to ensure that divers can free themselves in emergencies when every second counts.

Since they are intended to be submerged and in contact with water, their sharpening must be well done to minimize galvanic corrosion. Clean stones free from dust or iron residues should be used.

  • Serrated Knives

Serrated knives like bread knives, meat knives, or electric knives are not so complicated to sharpen; it’s all about using the right method. It seems that many people are not familiar with the correct technique, do not want to take the time to do it properly, or lack the necessary equipment. Sharpening them on the side opposite the serrations is not the right method and wears down the knives too quickly. Nevertheless, we have often seen this type of sharpening from mobile sharpeners.

This category includes the following types of knives:

    • Bread knives
    • Steak knives
    • Carving knives
    • Electric knives

The method we apply is to manually sharpen each tooth and recess one by one, using the correct angle. This preserves them and allows serrated knives to last much longer. Additionally, they retain their functionality and original appearance.

  • Swiss, multi-tools, camping or survival knives

These knives come in various types, including pocket knives, folding knives, and Swiss Army knives, equipped with multiple tools, utensils, and instruments. Like other knife blades, we can sharpen them and even disassemble them to remove rust from the parts and restore their original luster. It is also possible to repair, restore, or create new handles for these knives.
